Personal Statement about Training Program: We live in an historical time of crisis that affects us all from the most intimate to the most global levels. At times like this we need to reinvent our ways of being as family members, neighbors, workers, and citizens.
Focusing helps us in this process, offering us ways to heal and to connect to our creative impulses, awakening us to full living.
I am passionate about teaching Focusing and offering Focusing sessions geared toward personal growth as well as healing trauma.
In my teaching I integrate Inner Relationship Focusing developed by Ann Weiser Cornell with Shirley Turcotte’s Complex Trauma Focusing. In individual sessions I integrate Turcotte’s approach with Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing as well as my 25 years experience in somatics.
I also teach Thinking at the Edge and support the integration of Focusing with somatic movement and touch healing modalities.
A Sample of my Work: “We will make silence--full, supported, bouncy—a silence that opens into a large space, where loud cries and whispers can be equally heard, and where speechless memories can float to the surface. Can you hear yourself? Can you listen to your fears without panicking? Can you listen to your deepest needs without cringing in urgency? Can you hear the world with our human-made crises, and take it all in as a whisper? The whisper welcomes, undoes straining, and invites you to float, unpretentious. Loose but not lost, you can begin to sense new ways of being alive that do indeed keep us alive, in wholeness.” Corpography Notes
