Personal Statement about Training Program: Although I have previously worked in a wide range of settings and with many different clientelle, I have a specialised interest in substance misuse and compulsive behaviour. I believe that Focusing can help unpack the apparently 'irrational compulsions' that many people have, it can free 'stuckness' and is a particularly effective way of tackling difficult personal issues in a safe and controlled manner. I am trained and certified in Focusing Oriented Psychotherapy, am certified as a Focusing Professional and am a registered Focusing Trainer. I am currently only offering groupwork within a Substance Misuse Treatment Centre where I have carried out research on the efficacy of Focusing for addiction issues. I am available for private one to one sessions.
