Personal Statement about Training Program:
Because I am a creative arts therapist, I have a special interest in bringing the creative arts and focusing together. I have created an interest group in Toronto that is exploring this combination for personal and professional purposes. My experience in teaching art therapy at the post graduate and Master's levels allows me to adapt creative ways to teach mainstream focusing. I have created Focusing Frames which combines imagery and focusing and can be used as a self-therapy, within partnerships, and in a therpeutic relationship. My training program involves 6 core courses (taming our critics; the alchemy of emotions, our sacred contract, focusing and self care, focusing and the creative arts, focusing on dreams, on relationships, and personally designed programs) and a final theoretical and practicuum course.
