CONFERENCE
2000 in HUNGARY
“Children’s Inner
& Outer Peace”
REPORT from EILEEN FENDICK
Dear Marta
I enjoyed being back in Hungary and Salgótarján, meeting up with old friends and new. It was very nice to be with another from England, Anna, and for my daughter Claire to be there too.
Although feeling anxious about facilitating a reflection group, I found it a rewarding experience and learnt from the group the most effective way we could use our time. We ended up valuing that hour a lot, and felt very closely connected to each other. I felt reluctant to attend the debriefing sessions with other reflection group facilitators, as they made the day and concentrating too long for me, and I didn't really benefit from them. I received my learning from my group.
I learnt a lot in my learning group about group process, which has considerably strengthened my understanding and skills as a trainer.
The conference reinforced my belief, that as well as being with children in ways that honours their needs and expectations, we also as adults, teachers and most importantly parents, need to learn and understand communication and relationship skills to bring this all about. This means learning to do on the outside with others, what we do on the inside when we Focus ourselves.

I have very fond memories of the dancing, the lovely
people, the visit to Hollókő, the singing after the meal
in the restaurant and much more.
During the visit to Hollókő I had a magical experience.
We walked up a hill to a beautiful stone Castle and explored all around it. As I was gazing at the view
from very high up in the castle, I became aware of heavenly voices rising up from below!.
Not knowing where they could possibly be coming from, I began to follow the sound to it's source.
As I got nearer the voices sounded richer and louder........my pace quickened......and soon I found
myself in a low ceilinged Castle room, and there,
I experienced Budapest for the first time and have not stopped singing it's praises. Such a beautiful City !!
Thank you Marta and Ynse for your hospitality in Budapest and for making the Conference possible.
You consider the 'whole' person when planning the content.
Much love
Eileen Fendick
