Dear Conference Participants,

Each being enters this world with a full and deep intelligence. As focusers we access that level of our own depth and native intelligence.  Part of our job as parents is to help our children keep that level open in themselves against great pressures to become inwardly closed.

It takes courage and strength to keep allowing children to differentiate their own experience and for us to respond to the intricacy and particular ness of this person here, now. We also are of ten pressured to categorize our child and respond in terms of the "norms" or accepted generalities.

Your work at this conference to support each other and to outreach to others in their interaction with children is so important. It gives me courage to think of you all gathering together in this spirit of support for children to be able to keep focusing. You have a whole international community of people standing with you and your effort is part of the overall vision and work reaching out into the world.
