Connections and Crossings Across Cultures
ADVANCED AND CERTIFICATION FOCUSING
September 26-October 2, 2014
Spotlight on: WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES
The 2014 Focusing Weeklong Facilitation Team -- Suzanne Noel, Aaffien de Vries, and Eunsun Joo -- is pleased to announce the Themes and Workshops/Activities of this year's Focusing Weeklong. We have been working all year to develop a schedule that offers a wide variety of experiences that reflect the theme of connecting and crossing across cultures. This year, we have included the celebration of connecting and crossing across FOCUSING cultures as part of the unique diversity of our community.
We invite Advanced Focusers, Trainees ready to be Certified, Focusing Oriented Therapists, Certified Trainers, and Certifying Coordinators to join us for this traditional event.
THE DAILY THEMES ARE:
Friday Evening: Celebrating Diversity
Saturday: Crossing (Focusing) Cultures
Sunday: Community Wellness
Monday: Healing Connection
Tuesday: Felt Sensing Life and Work
Wednesday: Finding Our Own Way
Thursday: Carrying Forward Into the World
Optional: early morning "Awakening." A time to meditate or enjoy a movement activity (i.e., yoga, Tai Chi, a quiet walk, etc). This is facilitated by any participant wishing to lead this time.
Each morning, all the participants will meet in one circle for one or two morning workshops. These will be experiential encounters that enable you to live what you are learning. You will be given time and space to process with your fellow participants so that the overall theme of the Weeklong, Connecting and Crossing, is an integral part of your experience.
AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS and ACTIVITIES
We encourage you to enjoy the beautiful Garrison Grounds as much as you can to nourish your soul through interacting with this gorgeous, peaceful environment in a Felt Sensed way!
We welcome you to check in with yourself each afternoon, after the Processing Groups, to sense what you are needing/wanting. You may wish to take some time to rest and relax or go for a walk/meditation in the soothing and refreshing outdoors. Or you may decide to process something more deeply in a Focusing/Listening Partnership. And, of course, we will be offering interesting and fun workshops and activities each afternoon.
Below we list these afternoon options following the Processing Groups:
OPEN SPACE: This will be one afternoon where participants who wish to do so are invited to share their emerging Focusing practice.
EVENING FOCUSING CAFE: Every evening, you can get to know each other better during the Focusing Cafe, a time to relax and have fun, sharing your music, poetry, art, cultural games, etc.
What an honor and joy it is to celebrate our Certification as Focusing Trainers, Certifying Coordinators, or Participation in the 2014 Focusing Weeklong with each other! For Coordinators, this is a special treat, so consider coming with your students to personally deliver this recognition.
Certified Trainers from the Netherlands (2013 Weeklong) with Japanese translator, Maki
Seeing your new friends being recognized and honored by The Focusing Institute for their achievements is a special event you will remember with gratitude.
The Connections and Crossings Across Cultures 2014 Focusing Weeklong has a playful way of closing this full week of meaningful meetings and of deep processing! We joyfully celebrate our world-wide web of Focusing with this special activity!
Don't forget to bring some extra cash for books! The Focusing Bookstore will be open on certain days for an hour.
