Focusing and using Internet

Several possibilities to use this medium, Internet, is to present your work and experiences immediately to public and colleagues. Usually it takes a lot of time to present a draft, send it everywhere with all the costs of publishing and mailing. Now his can be done in seconds, in your own way, professionally or just as a note.

The exchange/feedback, after sending the paperwork or publications, normally takes a long time too like months, by Internet this can happen the same day you have published it on a homepage.

E-MAIL

(electronic mail) is beginning to be very well known, by leaving messages for anyone in the first place. Now we know there are for Focusing a discussion-lists in several languages, to put on and share your thoughts and discovering, often get feedback the same day or same week what helps you to go/get further. There are many other ways to use email. Like in supervising, coaching, management (Intranet) etc.

An example, I just installed an email system at a Focusing-institute in Holland and the same day we discovered a miscommunication of date for starting a planned workshop, so connected with the guest-teacher who was in Japan at that moment. Within 24 hours the connection was there by email and the problem was discussed and solved.

CHATTING

Chatting is often related with groups but also individuals can chat through the Internet. I made wonderful experiences when I used a chat-program (ICQ) for focusing-session. This is communication while typing, no voice or face so I had to only the words. It was less complicated as I thought use empathy and patience. Wonderful shifts happened and people already respect them ‘being with them’ and ‘taking them serious’

Because the Internet is very young as network it is allowed to make mistakes and be imperfect it is a hugh ‘playground’.
