The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this Focusing Roundtable designed especially for members of the Institute. We hope that this program and those to come will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.
This Roundtable will be of particular interest to members who want to find out more about Children Focusing– to gather information on what’s happening and to share stories and examples of how it works in everyday life. Some possible topics we might explore together are…
- What’s going on with Children Focusing where you live?
- Success stories of using Focusing with a child
- Information on courses, programs and resources for Children Focusing
- Ways to support each other so that Children Focusing can continue to blossom
If these topics interest you, we hope you will join us for this Roundtable.
What to expect from Focusing Roundtables: Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives. All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available. Registration is limited to 20 members on a first-come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
Mary Jennings is a Focusing Trainer based in Dublin, Ireland. She was instrumental in introducing Children Focusing to Ireland in 2009 and remains passionate about its benefits and potential. She has just completed a 3-year term as a Trustee of The International Focusing Institute and is a member of its Membership Committee.
Nina Joy Lawrence is a Certifying Coordinator from Oregon, USA and has a special interest in Community Wellness, including her involvement in Children Focusing. She feels that using Focusing in ways that will pass into families, and schools to improve the lives of children is central to the psycho-social health of communities.
Tine Swyngedouw is a Certifying Coordinator from Belgium. She is a psychologist and experiential psychotherapist working with adolescents and adults. She offers workshops in Focusing (Inner Relationship Focusing, Children, Creativity) and training to become a Focusing Professional. Tine serves as the chair of Focusing Flanders. She is mother of 2 daughters.
