Do you feel that you have your full voice? And what would having your full voice mean to you?

Is it about your message – getting across what you want to say? Or about having your physical voice carry out your wishes in speaking or singing? Or about taking your place more fully in the world?

For everyone, it’s important. And, as different as these meanings of “voice” may seem, they are all related. In this course, we will use Focusing as a window into all of them, and a way to get unstuck from old limitations.

Course Description:

The themes of the five workshops are briefly described: Jan 19, 26, Feb 2, 9, 16.

Class 1: Many ways “in” to having your voice.

Class 2: Working with the questions of “honesty” vs. “diplomacy”; revealing ourselves or impacting others.

Class 3: Dealing with ambivalence about message or delivery.

Class 4: Empathy as a communicator.

Class 5: The wanted feeling. Being heard – literally and figuratively. Consequences?

The class will be held on an easy-to-use program called Zoom, for which you will receive instructions.  Because the course in interactive, we encourage you to attend all classes live. Recordings will be sent to all participants so that you may view any class that you do miss.

About Marcella:

Marcella Calabi helps people find their voice and live from it. A Certified Focusing Professional, she has had a consulting practice called Clarityworks since 1998, helping people get unstuck with decision-making, communication and relationship strategy, and conflict resolution. She is also a classical singer and has been teaching voice and self-actualization through voice for over 30 years. Her work is inspired by several meanings of voice and how they overlap and affect each other: our physical voice and the self it expresses, the voice of our personhood manifested in word and action, and the inner voices that influence us as we make our life choices.

Marcella’s training and certification in Focusing was with Ann Weiser Cornell and Barbara McGavin (Inner Relationship Focusing). Committed to being a “Focusing polyglot,” she has also taken courses with Robert Lee (Domain), Evelyn Fendler-Lee (TAE) and Karen Whalen (WholeBody Focusing). Visit www.marcellacalabi.info.
