As human beings, we all have the unique capacity to be creative in whatever form we choose. When accessing our creative potential, we reawaken a sense of playfulness and purpose, which frequently brings more vitality to our life. And sometimes the immense joy and sense of satisfaction that is experienced when creating are among the precious gems of life.

At times, however, many of us find it difficult to tap into our innate creative abilities because of our fears, our inner critics, our lack of confidence, or more. Focusing can be used in different ways to tune into our creative spirit and work through many barriers that we might encounter.

In this roundtable discussion, we will explore various ways Focusing can be used to embrace and enliven our creativity. Some possible questions we might explore are:

  • How does our creative spirit reveal itself in our life, our work, our relationships?
  • What does creativity mean to each one of us?
  • How do we get in touch with a creative place through Focusing?
  • What are some ways to unblock, unlock our creative energy through the Focusing process? (For example, keeping it company with a Focusing-friendly attitude, Clearing-A-Space inside ourselves, or attending to our inner critic with curiosity).

If these questions interest you, we hope you will join us for this Roundtable. Everyone is welcome whether or not you think of yourself as a creative person or have an artistic background. Bring your own experiences, questions and thoughts —and a pen and paper!

What to expect from Focusing Roundtables: Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives. All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
